Here we go with the Corbally-Stourton Collection Part 2

Remember the story?
Local personality releases impressive art collection after 20 years of keeping it all locked away?*

Yesterday we installed Part II, with the beautiful abstract paintings of Geoffrey de Groen, and the smaller First Nations works. These De Groen works play with light and shade in lusciously applied colour, implying dreamscapes and the shadowy recesses of imagination.
Also featuring on the walls of Orchard Street Gallery are the affordable and collectible smaller works from the Western Desert. These unframed works have already started to sell, so drop in over the weekend and pick up a little jewel for your wall before they all get snatched up.

This show runs until Sunday 9th October.

*For those interested in the upcoming auction of the large Papunya works and the John Llewelyn-Jones watercolours, we’re hopeful it will be announced next week.
