Hand made Gouche on heavy watercolour paper

By making gouache using pigments, gum arabic, chalk and marble dust, Kat creates soft colours, applying them over a pink base to suggest seasonal shifts in colour and tone. The gouache dries quickly once mixed, so she completes a painting in one sitting. This gives the work a certain freshness which appeal. The resulting paintings are a play on colour and light - from the deep reds and bright yellows of Autumn, to pale blues and soft creams of Winter.
